From 19, full-time professionals with (only) bachelor's degrees earned an average of $64,500 per year, which is 56% higher than students that just hold a high school diploma. Not only does the bachelor's degree provide an important gateway to a postgraduate degree, but it has provided a consistent higher salary for graduates over the past 43 years, as well as provided a much higher projected life-cycle wage. In 2014, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York published an important report with data on the financial return for students with a high school diploma, associate's degree, and bachelor's degree. But while success can be found in many paths, a bachelor's degree still shows to be a solid financial investment. With the cost of college continually rising, the question of the importance of a bachelor's degree comes into account. There are many opportunities for young adults with no one path to success, health, or happiness. ![]()
